Hello and welcome to my very first post!
My name is Amy, and Sunday I started something that feels scary and exciting: a journey to turn my life around. I’m sharing it here because I know I’m not the only one who has ever felt stuck, unfit, overwhelmed or unsure of how to reach big dreams.
For years, I’ve stayed hidden in the corner being a “couch potato” and viewing life from the sidelines. It was at a trip to Butlins with my kids, being unable to walk that far and doing anything with them, especially as my daughter really loves the attention and wanted to do so much. My son, is 18 and was enjoying his independence but was happy I was close by. However, I’m sure both would have wanted me to do more with them, than what I did whilst there.
Once I got home and had all this free time, I sat down and thought what was really important to me. If I could do anything, be anything, what would me living my best life be like. I scribbled away on a notepad anything which was important to me and figured out what I would like to do and become. My daughter won’t stay little forever. Travelling has always been important to me. I’ve always wanted to live aboard or travel for a vast amount of the time, but never had the opportunity to do so. If other people can be digital nomads, why can’t I?
This blog will follow that transformation: You’ll see me:
- Working on my health and fitness. I currently weigh 37st 7lbs (525lbs or 238kg) to my rough goal weigh of 10st (140lbs or 63.5kg)
- Tackling debt, budgeting, and learning how to save for big adventures.
- Planning and eventually living my dream trip: traveling the UK, then the world, one step at a time. With my not so little sidekick Erika for company.
- Making space for magic along the way. This includes a lot of cats and Disney parks too!
I’m starting small — with daily changes, weekly check-ins, and sharing honestly when it’s tough. But I believe small steps add up to big change.
So, this is Day 1 or 4. The first step out of the “couch potato” zone and toward becoming a “world getter.” ✨
Thank you for being here. If you’d like to come along on this adventure, make sure to subscribe and say hi — I’d love to hear from you!
